AMD FirePro V7900 & V5900: New maps for fast workstations

AMD As most of our diligent readers should get graphics cards not only in home computers for use while gambling, but also in professional machines, where for example, 3D CAD models, or complex animations created. For these areas, both Nvidia and AMD's own product lines, optimized for these applications and thus are more expensive too.

The two new AMD FirePro V5900 and FirePro V7900 AMD graphics cards are the first whose graphics chips from the current Radeon HD 6000 series product. Consequently, one is on the cutting edge of technology and tries to features that are originally from the desktop market to make up ground in the workstation area.

Among the features that the two graphics cards to stand out from the competition, one including the renowned Eyefinity technology and AMD PowerTune. While thanks to the FirePro V5900 Eyefinity Connect up to 4 monitors up to 3 monitors and the FirePro V7900 can provide PowerTune that varies depending on the load voltage and frequency is used to and so little power is taken as necessary.
But that was not all because of GeometryBoost is brand new. This feature allows hardware there are two so-called primitives per clock run, what CAD and DCC allows users to represent complex structures in liquid form. Furthermore, both cards offer DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 1.4 support, and 2 GB GDDR5 graphics memory. Thanks to the flat design and the Pro CrossFire connector, a plurality of these cards are easily combined.

Except that, the FirePro V7900 with 1,280 stream processors and 2 GB of VRAM said. It also supports frame lock and genlock on the S400 and the FirePro 3D stereoscopic playback. But the map is required in any case less than 150 watts, will cost 669 euros but proud at the moment.

The smaller FirePro V5900 features 512 Stream processors after all, still and, with their consumption below 75 watts in each layer of the most efficient card for the same performance. But it also costs only € 409.90 and as the big brother now available.
