Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) dual core requirement appears to be "false"
Apparently the rumor that Google set a minimum hardware requirement for Android 3.0 a.k.a. Honeycomb is not true.

Do note that Sasha Segan in PCMag only wrote "Google's new Android Honeycomb tablet OS will require a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor to run properly, said Bobby Cha, managing director of Korean consumer electronics firm Enspert."
There does not appear to be a conflict. A floor minimum and recommended specifications are too different things. The story just got blown out of proportion.

Best to wait and see if Android 3.0 can run on a single core processor efficiently... remember once upon a time Windows Vista Machines were sold in machines with 512MB of RAM. They did work too... sort off.
